ABOUT W.O.E.
Stories that linger. Echoes that stay.
I’m Amber. Welcome to World of Echoes.
If you’re here, you probably know what it feels like to carry a story that doesn’t have a tidy ending. To hold a memory that softens and sharpens at different times of day. I started W.O.E. as a gathering place for those stories — the ones we whisper to a friend over tea, the ones we write in the margins, the ones that echo back years later when we finally need them.
I live in Chico, California, where late afternoon light pours gold across the kitchen table and makes everything look like a watercolor. I’m 51, grounded in a way I wasn’t at 31, still learning how to stay soft. I love handwritten notes, imperfect watercolor washes, eucalyptus tucked in a jar, and the quiet hour after everyone else has gone to bed.
World of Echoes came from the in-between seasons — not quite grief, not quite joy, but that tender threshold where we become more ourselves.
MY STORY
I’ve always found beauty in the in-between. Not the grand milestones, but the pause after. The way peach and plum bleed into each other on wet paper. The way late light hits the chipped bowl on my counter and makes it holy.
For years I collected scraps — pressed flowers, torn pages, little gold dots of joy — without knowing what they were for. W.O.E. is where I’ve gathered them.
Why echoes? Because I’ve learned that nothing truly leaves us. The kindness of a grandmother, a line from a book read at 22, the smell of sage after rain — they come back. Not to haunt, but to guide.
WHAT W.O.E. MEANS
I didn’t want an acronym that felt like a strategy. I wanted a practice.
W is for Witness. To witness your own story without rushing to edit it. To say, this happened, and it shaped me, and it matters.
O is for Open. To stay open when it would be easier to close. To let beauty in again, even after disappointment. Open hands, open heart.
E is for Echo. Because the truest stories don’t disappear. They echo. In how we mother, how we love, how we make a home. In the rituals we keep.
WHAT YOU’LL FIND HERE
This space is intentionally slow.
Journal reflections — essays on lingering, softening, coming home to yourself.
Curated Echoes — the books that stayed with me, the small rituals that actually help, the small joys I can’t stop collecting: a perfect blush-toned mug, the way sage smells when you bruise it.
Circle Gatherings — seasonal, small, soulful gatherings online and, soon, in person under the oaks here in Chico. No performing, just presence.
A CLOSING INVITATION
If your own life feels like it’s asking to be witnessed right now — not fixed, just witnessed — you’re in the right place.
Join the Circle below. I send a letter twice a month, always handwritten first, always with a reflection prompt and one small practice to try.
Stories that linger. Echoes that stay.
With warmth,
Amber
